Our mission is to provide new occupational therapists resources and tools they need to be successful in both their careers and their lives.
Occupational therapists are an exceptionally caring bunch. Highly empathetic and exquisitely devoted, OTs historically haven’t taken the time away from caring for others to develop an online community for themselves.
Unique practice settings abound, and the jobs are out there. NewGradOccupationalTherapy (NGOT) was created to help new OTs as they navigate the waters separating grad school from the real world.
NGOT helps new OTs create incredible resumes, become involved in research projects, determine the right practice settings and explore unconventional ways to apply their degrees. If you’re an OT with information to share, we want to hear from you!
NGOT joins the team of new grad publications founded by Dr. Matthew Geller OD. Dr. Geller founded optometrystudents.com, followed by newgradoptometry.com. The community loved it! The challenges of transitioning from a full-time grad student to an independent professional forging a career path can be overwhelming in any healthcare profession.
The new grad resource was built out of a need that shows itself every day. We thank all of those who share their experience and their work, whether they do so on blogs, social media, video, or anywhere else. Sharing as a community will only help us grow together, and together we can achieve great things for our patients and ourselves.
